Growing up in Karachi, Pakistan, I first discovered my love for fashion when I accompanied my mother to local bazaars to select fabrics with her. And watching her stitch dresses for me to wear sparked my interest in learning more about design.

 

Fashion to me is not just an expression of personal style, but a language that conveys one’s innermost thoughts, feelings and personality to those around us. That is why my designs are heavily inspired by personal experiences, and creating pieces that hold a sentimental value and provoke emotion. My designs draw from South Asian culture and give it a playful, Western twist.

 

I recently graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, with a BFA in Fashion Design, specializing in Sportswear and minoring in Art History.
